Advanced Topics in Child Care
Classes are designed for child care providers in homes or centers who have completed the Futures Basic class or an equivalent.
- A variety of 10-hour series of classes that provide study in a specialized area
- Earn 1 Continuing Education Unit (CEU) from Michigan State University (additional fee required)
- Topics include:
- language and literacy
- creative expression
- advocacy for children
- school-age care
- working with challenged families
- teaching and leading children (TLC)
- creative ways to plan for play
- kindness in the classroom
- observing and recording young children’s behavior

- anti-bias - appreciating diversity
Caring for Infants & Toddlers: Parts A, B, C
Designed for child care providers who work with infants and toddlers.
- Each part is a series of classes totaling 16-hours
- Three parts:
A - an overview
B - social/emotional growth and group care
C - learning, development and working with families
