Child Care Aides and Relative Providers who complete 16 hours of approved child care training may be eligible to receive a one-time incentive of $150.00.

Requirements and Eligibility

• You must be a Child Care Aide or Relative Provider through the State of Michigan. Licensed/Registered providers do not qualify for this incentive.

• $150.00 Aide/Relative incentive is a one-time award.

• Complete 16 hours of formal child care training provided by an approved organization such as: Community Coordinated Child Care (4C) Agency, Community Colleges, Michigan State University Extension (Better Kid Care), MIAEYC workshops or community education classes. Some examples of child care training include: child health and safety, early childhood development, discipline, etc.

• The child(ren) in your care must be subsidized by the Michigan Department of Human Services (DHS).

• 2 copies of DHS check stubs must be provided for no earlier than 90 days before the training and no later than 90 days after the training.

• Mail the completed application with the trainer’s original signature with 2 DHS check stubs to:
