CDA Assessment

The Child Development Associate (CDA) National Credentialing Program is a program that focuses on the skills of early care and education professionals. It is designed to provide performance-based training, assessment and credentialing of child care staff, home visitors, and family child care providers.

 

National Association for the Education of Young Children

The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is the nation's largest and most influential organization of early childhood educators and others dedicated to improving the quality of programs for children from birth through third grade.

 

The Michigan Association for the Education of Young Children

The Michigan Association for the Education of Young Children (MiAEYC) is committed to improving the education and welfare of children from birth through age eight. MiAEYC works for young children, their families and early childhood professionals. MiAEYC supports the professional development of its members through quality training, materials and services. More than 4000 early childhood educators, professionals, and suppliers of children's services belong to MiAEYC in 22 local affiliates.

 

Department of Human Services

The Department of Human Services is Michigan's public assistance, child and family welfare agency. DHS directs the operations of public assistance and service programs through a network of over 100 county family independence agencies in every county in Michigan.

 

Child and Adult Care Food Program

USDA’s Child and Adult Care Food Program plays a vital role in improving the quality of day care and making it more affordable for many low-income families. Each day, 2.6 million children receive nutritious meals and snacks through CACFP. The program also provides meals and snacks to 74,000 adults who receive care in nonresidential adult day care centers.

 

Michigan's Children

Michigan's Children is a statewide, multi-issue, independent, broad-based advocacy group which acts as a voice for children. The organization works with policy-makers, communities, other organizations and the public to improve the quality of life for children and their families and to ensure that every child in Michigan has an opportunity to become a healthy, productive, and responsible adult.

Michigan Head Start

The Michigan Head Start association actively works for Head Start Children, families and community. They are the sole organization in the state to advocate for the needs of the state's poorest children. Head Start is one of the nation's oldest and most successful programs addressing the needs of children and families in poverty. Michigan serves over 33,000 children and their families in Head Start programs.
