The T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood Project

Bachelors Degree

A limited number of Bachelor degree scholarships are currently being awarded.

Eligibility:

  • Must have 55 semester credits or 83 term credits that articulate to a participating college/university.
  • Must be working on a Bachelor degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education. Sorry, teaching degrees are not approved.
  • Currently working at least 30 hours per week in a licensed child care center/group home or regulated home. (Scholarships are for providers who are directly working with a particular group of children in a classroom setting.)
  • As a teacher/assistant / aide earn less the $14.25 per hour.
  • As a director earn less than $15.00 per hour.
  • As a home provider/group home owner earn less than $15.00 per hour after expenses.
  • If working for a center/group home the center/group home must agree to sponsor you.
  • Scholarships are competitive. Scholarships will be awarded to T.E.A.C.H. recipient/sponsors as well as non-T.E.A.C.H. participants. Priority will be given to current T.E.A.C.H. recipients/sponsors with remaining scholarships being competitive.
  • Must be eligible for College/University admission at an in-state student tuition rate.
  • Have worked in a child care in Michigan for one year.
  • Must apply for PELL (priority will be given to those who receive a PELL Grant).
  • Must be admitted to one of the participating college/universities.
